I’m back.

Marathon recovery is uninspiring. There’s no sugar-coating it. It’s been two weeks of mood swings, questionable food choices, and muscle- healing. It was time.

Best 3.4 miles ever.

I was having a bad day. The kind of day that starts with a headache that makes every other little thing go wrong. By lunchtime my head felt like I was wearing a lead helmet and I could barely focus on a single task for more than 5 minutes. I tried water, food, caffeine, ibuprofen; nothing worked. I left the office and went home to rest. After a few hours of trying to rest, my head felt a bit better, but I still didn’t feel quite right. Then I had one of those lightbulb moments: oh, this is about running! And just like that, my Boston Marathon recovery ended.

So what’s next? I have a few ideas that I’m chewing on. I’ll let you know when I decide. In the meantime, enjoy the spring that has finally sprung!
