This week’s training low point: I didn’t run as long as I was aiming to on Saturday. I just couldn’t force myself to keep going on the treadmill for a third hour – I didn’t have the mental toughness for it. My legs were fine, my lungs were fine. I lost the mental battle this weekend. There are peaks and there are valleys – next week’s 17 miles will be better, I’m sure.
This week’s training high point: I managed to make the best of the forced treadmill session on Thursday. The training plan called for 6 miles of speed intervals. Because I was on the treadmill, I could stricly enforce the prescribed paces on myself. Outside, I might have hit the paces, but not in such a structured and prolonged way.
