Long Runs Are for Sightseeing

Long runs are meant to be slow. The idea is to accustom your body and mind to the longer running time. Every time I go out for my long run I have to consciously think about slowing myself down, so that I can actually make some training gains.

This year’s approach: Saturday long runs are going to include some stops to enjoy the view. Like these, from today’s foggy, damp 8.5 miles:
